What is Common Proficiency Test

What is CPT
CPT is an entrance level test to enter into Chartered Accountancy course

Eligibility for CPT 
Students holding plus two or degree level are eligible to take this test. Once this test is cleared students are eligible for Chartered Accountancy while pursuing your degree. 



Exam Pattern
CPT Consists of multiple choice question paper of 200 marks covering 4 different subjects
  1. Fundamentals of accounting 
  2. Mercantile laws 
  3. General economics 
  4. Quantitative aptitude


Session 1 consists of Fundamentals of accounting for 60 marks and mercantile law for 40 marks. 

Session 2 consists of general economics and quantitative aptitude with each of 50 marks 

Each correct answer carries 1 mark and each wrong answer carries - 0.25 marks.

Institute of chartered Accountants of India conducts this CPT test twice a year.

CPT mathematics and statistics syllabus is completely based on school and plus two level.
