Firstly, a sincere thanks for your c...Hello Venkat,
Firstly, a sincere thanks for your continuous contribution of cost-free knowledge sharing.

I'm currently going thru your WCF tutorial but I'm posting a question regarding WCF here because, as you're working on this thread and would respond back to this, instead of going back to the thread(Last updated on 2014).

My question is:
I was working on WCF service with an endpoint binding as netTcpBinding, hosted on a Console application. Below shown configuration setting.

system.serviceModel
services
service name="FullTimePartTime_EmpWCFServiceAppl.EmployeeService" behaviorConfiguration="mexBehaviour"
endpoint address="EmployeeService" binding="netTcpBinding" contract="FullTimePartTime_EmpWCFServiceAppl.IEmployeeService"
/endpoint
endpoint address="mex" binding="mexTcpBinding" contract="IMetadataExchange"
/endpoint
host
baseAddresses
add baseAddress="net.tcp://localhost:7090/"/
/baseAddresses
/host
/service
/services
behaviors
serviceBehaviors
behavior name="mexBehaviour"
serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="false" /
/behavior
/serviceBehaviors
/behaviors
/system.serviceModel

Console application executes fine. WPF is client app which should consume WCF service but when i tried to add ServiceRefrence with address net.tcp://localhost:7090/, Error occurs as
'The URI prefix is not recognized. Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'net.tcp://localhost:7090/'.
There was no endpoint listening at net.tcp://localhost:7090/ that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action.'

Can anyone help me to fix this issue & let me know the mistake.
Thanks in advance.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
